Gambling Addiction Therapy & Counseling in Anchorage.

Breaking free from compulsive gambling starts with one honest conversation. Our male therapists in Anchorage offer confidential, expert support to help you move forward.

The reality

You Deserve More Than the Next Bet.

Isolation can make compulsive gambling worse. When you're surrounded by long winters and limited outlets, gambling can become a way to feel something — excitement, control, or escape. And before you know it, a habit becomes a trap.

Gambling addiction isn't about willpower or weakness. The brain becomes wired to chase that rush, and breaking that cycle requires more than just deciding to stop. It takes understanding what gambling has been providing — and finding better ways to meet those needs.

Our male therapists work with men across Anchorage who are ready to address the real drivers behind their gambling. Sessions are private, practical, and built around your specific situation.

Our story

Why I Started Anchor Men's Therapy.

About Jordan J. Caron →

My experience with gambling began in my early 20's with a single quick bet. What seemed harmless at the time slowly evolved into a long, off-and-on struggle that lasted more than a decade.

The many forms of addiction it took, in spite of all I'd learnt, both privately, with periods of extreme relief followed by deeper backsliding, eventually led me to understand the burden that gambling creates.

For years, I minimized the problem. I told myself it would eventually stop. It wasn't until I sought gambling addiction counseling and began working with a gambling therapist that real, lasting change became possible.

Today, gambling has become more accessible and more aggressively marketed than ever. With the rise of legalized online betting platforms, constant advertising, and betting integrated directly into sports broadcasts, many men find themselves caught in patterns they never intended to develop.

Gambling addiction is not simply about money or willpower. It is often tied to stress, coping mechanisms, emotional regulation, and deeper psychological struggles.

At Anchor Men's Therapy, we understand these patterns. Our goal is to provide grounded, confidential support for men who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or concerned about their relationship with gambling.

Because regaining control is possible.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions.

Yes. All of our Anchorage sessions are held by secure video, which means you can meet with the right therapist for you from anywhere in Alaska. The privacy of an online session removes a barrier that often keeps men out of treatment for years.

No. Every therapist on our team has worked with many men carrying serious financial and emotional weight around gambling. There's nothing you can say in session that they haven't heard before, and they're trained to meet it with curiosity and care — not judgment.

That's completely okay — and very common. You don't have to arrive at therapy with a decision already made. Many men start by exploring their relationship with gambling and what it's really doing for them. Clarity tends to come before commitment, not the other way around.

A simple test: would the people closest to you be surprised by the truth about your gambling? If you're hiding amounts, frequency, or losses, that itself is a signal. Problem gambling is defined less by how much you wager and more by the impact it's having on your life, your finances, and the people around you.

No. Everything you share is protected by strict confidentiality laws. We don't share information with partners, family members, or employers. The only exceptions are the standard legal ones around imminent harm, which your therapist will walk you through in the first session.

You don't have to keep chasing the next bet.
