Men's Therapy & Counseling in New York City.

New York doesn't slow down for anyone, and neither do you. But the relentless pace, the career pressure, and the isolation that comes from being surrounded by millions of people can wear a man down in ways that are hard to explain to anyone who isn't living it. If you're ready to stop pushing through and start dealing with what's underneath, Anchor is here.

The reality

It Takes Strength to Be Here.

There's a particular brand of pressure that comes with being a man in New York. You're expected to be ambitious, self-sufficient, emotionally steady, and always moving forward. Slowing down feels like falling behind.

But underneath the hustle, a lot of men are dealing with things they never talk about — a relationship that's quietly falling apart, anxiety that shows up as irritability, a drinking habit that's become more than social, or a deep sense of loneliness despite being surrounded by people every day.

If any of that sounds familiar, therapy isn't a detour from your life. It's an investment in your ability to actually show up for it.

Issues we help

What we work on, together.

Men across the five boroughs come to Anchor Men's Therapy for a wide range of reasons. Some know exactly what they need help with. Others just know something has to change.

What changes

You Don't Have to Keep Outrunning It.

New York rewards the appearance of having it together. But most men who reach out to us have been managing on their own for years, and they've hit the point where their usual strategies aren't working anymore. Therapy with a male therapist means you can drop the performance and get honest about what's going on.

That's not a fantasy. That's what happens when a man decides to do the work.

  • Work with a male therapist who understands the pressures you face
  • Develop real strategies, not generic advice, for your specific situation
  • Rebuild your capacity for connection and emotional presence
  • Address the root causes, not just the symptoms

Our story

Why I Started Anchor Men's Therapy.

Most men don't get a personal invitation to start therapy. So I built one.

Anchor Men's Therapy was founded for two reasons.

Personal experience

As a man, I understand how easy it is to carry stress, pressure, and internal struggles alone. My own experience with therapy showed me how powerful the right support can be in helping regain clarity, balance, and stability.

Professional perspective

Through years of working closely with therapists across North America with Marketing Well, I observed a growing demand from men seeking help, alongside a persistent shortage of male-focused therapy options and male therapists available to support them.

Many men find comfort in speaking with professionals who closely understand the unique challenges men often face, from identity and purpose to stress, relationships, and emotional well-being.

Anchor Men's Therapy was created to provide that space.

The Anchor difference

Therapy that meets men where they are.

Male Therapists Who Get It.

Every therapist on our team is a man. So the cultural shorthand around work, fatherhood, identity and pressure doesn't need explaining from scratch.

Confidential & Judgment-Free.

No assumptions about what you should be feeling. No corporate jargon. Just secular, evidence-based therapy in a space where you can say the things you've been holding back.

Built Specifically for Men.

Our model, our clinicians, our intake. Every part of the practice was designed around how men actually engage with therapy when it's a fit.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions.

Sessions happen over secure video, no subway ride, no midtown waiting room. You can connect from your apartment, your office, or anywhere with privacy. It's therapy designed to fit into a New York schedule, not compete with it.

Career pressure and burnout are huge, especially in finance, law, tech, and media. We also see a lot of men dealing with relationship issues, anxiety, depression, anger, loneliness, and addiction. Many are high-functioning on the outside but struggling internally.

Your first session is about getting to know each other. Your therapist will ask about what brought you in and what you're hoping to get out of it. There's no pressure to share everything at once. Most men tell us it's a lot more natural than they expected.

We provide superbills that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Coverage depends on your specific plan. We also offer a free initial consultation so you can find the right therapist before committing financially.

Research and experience both show that many men are more open with a male therapist. There's a shared understanding of the male experience that reduces the need to explain yourself and lets you get to the real work faster.

Absolutely. Most of our clients aren't in crisis. They're men who feel stuck, disconnected, or tired of operating on autopilot. Therapy is most powerful when used proactively, not as a last resort.
