Our story

Why I Started Anchor Men's Therapy.

About Jordan J. Caron →

Like many men and perhaps yourself, my exposure to pornography began early. What started as curiosity gradually became a pattern that followed me for years. At the time, I didn't recognize it as a problem.

Pornography had become so normalized, especially with the rise of the internet, that it was easy to dismiss the growing impact it was having on my confidence, relationships, and overall well-being.

Over time, I began noticing patterns that felt increasingly difficult to control. Habits that once seemed harmless were affecting important areas of my life in ways I didn't fully understand.

Seeking support changed that. Through a men's group, therapy and personal work, I gained a deeper understanding of how compulsive behaviors often function, not simply as habits, but as coping mechanisms tied to stress, emotional regulation, and underlying psychological patterns.

For three years I facilitated a porn recovery group on another platform. Seeing how many men came through the group became the reason why I wanted to start Anchor Men's Therapy. Too many men struggle quietly with similar challenges, often accompanied by frustration, shame, or confusion.

This is why I created specialized support for men navigating compulsive pornography use and related concerns.

Because change is possible, and no one has to navigate it alone.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions.

Common signs include: spending increasing amounts of time viewing pornography, failed attempts to cut back, using porn to cope with stress or negative emotions, experiencing relationship conflicts because of porn use, or feeling shame and anxiety around your habits. If pornography is interfering with your work, relationships, or sense of self, therapy can help.

Yes. Evidence-based approaches like CBT and EMDR have helped many men break compulsive patterns and rebuild healthier relationships with sexuality, themselves, and their partners. The most important predictors of success are honesty with your therapist and a willingness to engage in the work — not how severe the problem is when you start.

Research shows online therapy is just as effective as in-person for most concerns, including compulsive sexual behavior. For many men it's actually more effective — the privacy and convenience make it easier to be honest and to stay consistent week to week. We offer both formats so you can choose what fits.

Absolutely. Everything you share with your therapist is protected by strict confidentiality laws. We don't share information with partners, family members, or employers. The only exceptions are the standard legal ones around imminent harm, which your therapist will walk you through in the first session.

That's exactly why we exist. Shame thrives in secrecy — and our therapists have heard it all before, without exception. The first session is just a conversation. You go at your own pace, and nothing you say will surprise us.
