Men's Therapy & Counseling in Reno.

Reno keeps you moving — but moving fast doesn't fix a struggling relationship, a gambling habit that's spiraled, or anger you can't explain. Our male therapists help men in Reno deal with what's really going on.

The reality

It Takes Strength to Be Here.

Reno has a way of keeping you moving — the work, the hustle, the pace of a city that never fully shuts off. But underneath the grind, a lot of men here are quietly dealing with things they never talk about. A relationship that's falling apart. Gambling that's gone from entertainment to escape. Anger that's getting harder to control. Or a general sense of numbness that even the Sierra Nevada can't shake.

Maybe you moved to Reno for a fresh start and found that the problems you brought with you didn't stay behind. Maybe you work nights or shifts in a casino, warehouse, or construction and by the time you're off, there's nothing left for the people who matter. Maybe the proximity to gambling has turned what started as casual into something that's costing you your marriage, your savings, or your self-respect.

None of that makes you a bad person. It makes you a man who's been dealing with real pressure in a place that doesn't offer a lot of support — and a culture that tells you to handle it yourself.

Anchor Men's Therapy connects you with a male therapist who gets it — the Western independence, the provider pressure, the difficulty asking for help when you've spent your whole life figuring things out on your own.

Issues we help

What we work on, together.

Men across the Reno-Sparks area — from Midtown and the University district to South Reno, Spanish Springs, and out to Fernley and Carson City — come to Anchor when something in their life needs to change. Here's what we help with most.

Man finding his footing through therapy
What changes

The Odds Are Better When You Stop Going It Alone.

Reno men are independent — you figure things out, you adapt, you keep moving. But independence has limits, and some problems don't improve with more time or more effort. They improve with the right support. The men who get the most out of therapy aren't the ones who've given up. They're the ones who finally stopped betting on willpower alone and decided to try a different approach.

That's not a fantasy. That's what happens when a man decides to do the work.

Our story

Why I Started Anchor Men's Therapy.

Most men don't get a personal invitation to start therapy. So I built one.

Anchor Men's Therapy was founded for two reasons.

Personal experience

As a man, I understand how easy it is to carry stress, pressure, and internal struggles alone. My own experience with therapy showed me how powerful the right support can be in helping regain clarity, balance, and stability.

Professional perspective

Through years of working closely with therapists across North America with Marketing Well, I observed a growing demand from men seeking help, alongside a persistent shortage of male-focused therapy options and male therapists available to support them.

Many men find comfort in speaking with professionals who closely understand the unique challenges men often face, from identity and purpose to stress, relationships, and emotional well-being.

Anchor Men's Therapy was created to provide that space.

The Anchor difference

Therapy that meets men where they are.

Male Therapists Who Get It.

Every therapist on our team is a man. So the cultural shorthand around work, fatherhood, identity and pressure doesn't need explaining from scratch.

Confidential & Judgment-Free.

No assumptions about what you should be feeling. No corporate jargon. Just secular, evidence-based therapy in a space where you can say the things you've been holding back.

Built Specifically for Men.

Our model, our clinicians, our intake. Every part of the practice was designed around how men actually engage with therapy when it's a fit.

The team

Meet Our Male Therapists & Counselors in Reno.

Every Anchor therapist is male. We built it that way because men consistently open up more easily with someone who shares their perspective. Our Reno-serving therapists understand the specific pressures men face here — from the grind of casino, warehouse, and construction work to the isolation of living in a small-big city, the proximity to gambling temptation, and the Western culture of self-reliance that makes asking for help feel like the last thing a man should do.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions.

Sessions happen over secure video call — no driving across town or sitting in a waiting room. Connect from your home, your apartment, or wherever you have privacy. We offer flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends to work around shift work, nights, and irregular hours.

Relationship breakdowns and communication issues are at the top of the list. We also see a lot of men dealing with gambling problems, anger, anxiety, depression, porn addiction, and alcohol use. Work stress — especially for men in casinos, warehouses, construction, and tech — is also extremely common. Life transitions like divorce, becoming a father, relocation, and financial crisis are frequent triggers.

Yes. Living in Reno means gambling is part of the environment — and for a lot of men, what started casually has become a serious problem affecting their finances, relationships, and mental health. Our therapists provide a non-judgmental space to address gambling patterns and build healthier habits. You don't need to have hit rock bottom to start.

Rates vary by therapist. We offer a free initial consultation so you can find the right fit before committing financially. Many insurance plans cover virtual therapy or counseling — check with your provider to see what's included in your plan.

Because connection matters. A lot of men tell us they tried therapy before and it didn't stick — often because they didn't feel truly understood. A male therapist brings a shared understanding of the male experience — the expectation to provide, the Western self-reliance, the difficulty being vulnerable. That means less time explaining yourself and more time doing the work.

Absolutely. A lot of our Reno clients work casino shifts, warehouse overnights, or construction schedules. Online therapy makes it possible to connect at times that work for your life — including daytime sessions if you're on nights. Your therapist will work with you to find a consistent time that fits.
